Hey, I’m Spencer — the color-loving stylist behind Spencer Laine Artistry. I’ve spent the last 15 years doing what I love most here in Charleston, SC: creating custom color, corrective transformations, and effortless, lived-in looks that actually fit your lifestyle.
I’m all about helping clients build simple, refined routines that make their hair work for them — not the other way around. Education, trust, and integrity are the heart of what I do, and every appointment is built on that foundation (plus a good laugh or two).
When I’m not in the salon, you can find me at a live show with my husband, sneaking away to the mountains with my dog, or catching up with friends over a Caesar salad, fries, and a mocktail.

There’s a private parking lot right out front — no need to stress about street parking. Just pull right in! When you enter the plaza, look for the second door on the left. Once inside, I’m the first suite on the right. Easy peasy.

Please come with clean, dry hair worn down — the way you normally style it — and with minimal product. Avoid root sprays or temporary color so I can see your hair in its natural tone and texture. If your hair needs to be washed and restyled before we start, there’ll be an additional shampoo service added to your appointment.
Curly friends! Come with minimal styling product so we can get the best possible shape in your cut. A touch of gel or mousse is totally fine, but skip ponytails, top knots, clips, or pins. I need to see your curls in their most natural state to create your perfect shape.

Salons aren’t a safe environment for children, and your appointment is meant to be your time to relax and recharge. Please arrange childcare ahead of time — if little ones come along, we’ll need to reschedule for another day.
And as for your partner or your besties — save the big reveal for after! No extra guests are permitted in the salon, so anyone who tags along will be asked to wait in the car.
Absolutely! I’ve designed my space with comfort in mind — because color magic takes time. I’ve got refreshments, light snacks, and even space in the fridge if you’d like to bring or order food.
If you’re working remotely that day, no problem! There’s complimentary Wi-Fi, a lap desk, and plenty of chargers. Just bring your headphones if you’ll be on calls — as much as I’d love to hear the office tea, phone calls can distract other guests and stylists.
